Up-and-Over Garage Doors

The up and over garage door is still the most versatile as well as cheapest when it comes to materials, design and garage door cost. The one-piece panel structure means that doors can be made from steel, fiberglass, UPVC and most types of timber.
There are two types of Up-and-Over Garage Doors available:
Canopy Up-and-Over Garage Doors
The canopy garage door is the simplest and most common type of up and over garage door mechanism. Canopy garage doors derive their name from it’s mechanism. When fully opened, the garage door panel protrudes about a third forward of the sub frame to form a canopy.
Retractable Up-and-Over Garage Doors
Retractable garage doors are becoming the more popular type of up and over garage door mechanism in the UK. The name derives from the garage door panel retracting fully into the garage when open. Retractable doors have an advantage over canopy doors as they can be automated much more easily.
It is a mechanism that will convert easily and safely into remote control electric operation with the least equipment required.
